STATEMENT BY THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF EUROPE & FOREIGN AFFAIRS OVER IRAN/ISRAEL
IRAN– SUMMONS OF THE IRANIAN AMBASSADOR TO THE MINISTRY OF EUROPE & FOREIGN AFFAIRS15 April 2024
Since the attack on Israel by more than three hundred (300) drones by Iran, the night of April 14 to 15, 2024, a G7 summit, (video-conference) took place urgently yesterday, Sunday 15 April while condemning this air attack. The European Union also strongly condemned this attack and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France and Belgium published a press release relating to the summoning of the ambassador by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. We are publishing the full text of these two French and Belgian press releases (Belgium which currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union 2024)

"As announced by the Minister, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to France, Mr. Mohammad Amin-Nejad, was summoned to the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs on April 15. He was reminded, with the greatest firmness, of France's condemnation of the attack launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Israel on the night of Saturday April 13 to Sunday April 14.
The Islamic Republic, by having launched this irresponsible attack, runs the risk of a conflagration in which no one would have any interest. These serious and unprecedented actions, which threaten the security of Israel, that of our partners, and regional stability, must stop immediately.

France is working with its partners to de-escalate and calls on everyone to exercise restraint.

The demand for the immediate release of our nationals arbitrarily detained in Iran was reiterated once again. » Source Ministry of Foreign Affairs/France
